APTRIAX-1g Injection

APTRIAX-1g Injection APTRIAX contains Ceftriaxone Sodium, a broad-spectrum, semi-synthetic third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic for parenteral administration. Ceftriaxone exerts its bactericidal activity by selectively binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall. This binding inhibits the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, suppressing cell wall assembly, causing osmotic instability, and triggering autolytic enzyme activity that leads to bacterial cell lysis. Ceftriaxone demonstrates high stability against beta-lactamases (both penicillinases and cephalosporinases) produced by Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. It features an extended plasma elimination half-life that permits once-daily dosing. APTRIAX is indicated for the treatment of severe lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, bacterial septicemia, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, bacterial meningitis, and surgical prophylaxis.
