EPRAKAST-DSR Capsules EPRAKAST-DSR is a fixed-dose combination oral therapy combining Esomeprazole in an extended-release (ER) form and Domperidone in a sustained-release (SR) form. Esomeprazole, the S-enantiomer of omeprazole, selectively and irreversibly inhibits the gastric parietal cell $H^+/K^+$-ATPase enzyme (proton pump), blocking the terminal step of gastric acid secretion to provide prolonged reduction in gastric acidity. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine ($D_2$) receptor antagonist that enhances gastrointestinal motility and transit. It increases lower esophageal sphincter tone, accelerates gastric emptying, and coordinates antroduodenal motility, while also exerting antiemetic effects through antagonism of dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) outside the blood-brain barrier. EPRAKAST-DSR is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, non-ulcer dyspepsia, and chronic gastritis associated with hyperacidity, delayed gastric emptying, or dysmotility symptoms such as nausea, bloating, and epigastric fullness.
