Vorizol 200mg Tablets Vorizol-200 contains Voriconazole, a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal agent. Voriconazole acts by inhibiting fungal cytochrome P450-mediated 14 alpha-lanosterol demethylation, a critical step in fungal ergosterol biosynthesis. The loss of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane and accumulation of 14 alpha-methyl sterols disrupt membrane structure and function, inhibiting fungal cell growth and replication. Vorizol®-200 is indicated for the treatment of invasive aspergillosis, serious fungal infections caused by Scedosporium and Fusarium species, severe candidal infections (including esophageal candidiasis), and invasive candidiasis in immunocompromised patients.
