I-Nem 1g Injection i-nem 1g is a broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic combination comprising Imipenem and Cilastatin in a 1:1 ratio. Imipenem is a potent carbapenem antibiotic that binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) to inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in cell death. Cilastatin is a specific, competitive renal dehydropeptidase-I inhibitor that prevents the renal metabolism of Imipenem, maintaining effective antibiotic levels in the body and protecting against potential renal toxicity. It is indicated for the treatment of severe, multidrug-resistant, or complicated infections, including lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, and bacterial septicemia.
