Targocid 200 mg Injection Targocid 200 mg contains Teicoplanin, a glycopeptide antibiotic produced by Actinoplanes teichomyceticus. It works by inhibiting peptidoglycan polymerization and cross-linking in bacterial cell walls, thereby blocking cell wall synthesis and causing cell lysis. It is indicated for the treatment of serious Gram-positive infections, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and enterococcal infections, such as complicated skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, hospital-acquired pneumonia, complicated urinary tract infections, infective endocarditis, and peritonitis.
