Ribasure Capsules

Ribasure Capsules Ribasure contains Ribavirin, a synthetic purine nucleoside analogue related to guanosine. Ribavirin exerts its antiviral activity through multiple mechanisms, including intracellular phosphorylation by adenosine kinase to mono-, di-, and triphosphate metabolites. Ribavirin triphosphate competitively inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), depleting intracellular guanosine triphosphate (GTP) pools. Additionally, it directly inhibits viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, induces lethal mutagenesis into viral RNA genomes, and enhances host cell-mediated immune responses. Ribasure is indicated primarily as part of a combination regimen (co-administered with pangenotypic direct-acting antivirals or interferon-alpha) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adult and pediatric patients, including those with compensated or decompensated cirrhosis.
