DARUVIR 600-R Tablets DARUVIR 600-R is a fixed-dose co-formulation combining Darunavir (a second-generation HIV-1 protease inhibitor) and Ritonavir (a pharmacokinetic enhancer). Darunavir binds competitively to the active site of the HIV-1 protease enzyme, halting the processing of Gag-Pol polyprotein precursors and preventing the maturation of infectious virions. Ritonavir functions as a pharmacokinetic booster by inhibiting CYP3A-mediated hepatic metabolism, thereby elevating plasma levels and prolonging the terminal half-life of darunavir. Indicated in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adult and pediatric patients.
