Lamivir-150 Tablets Lamivir-150 contains Lamivudine, a synthetic nucleoside analogue of cytidine with potent antiviral activity against Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). Lamivudine is intracellularly phosphorylated to its active metabolite, lamivudine 5'-triphosphate (3TC-TP). 3TC-TP inhibits HIV-1 reverse transcriptase competitively and acts as a chain terminator due to its lack of a 3'-hydroxyl group required for DNA elongation, thereby preventing viral DNA synthesis and replication. It is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adult and pediatric patients.
