Triomune 40 Tablets Triomune 40 is a fixed-dose triple-combination antiretroviral regimen containing Lamivudine (an NRTI), Stavudine (an NRTI), and Nevirapine (an NNRTI). Lamivudine and stavudine undergo intracellular phosphorylation to active triphosphates that competitively inhibit HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and cause DNA chain termination. Nevirapine non-competitively binds directly to the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme, inducing a conformational change that disrupts the catalytic site. Together, this combination halts viral RNA-dependent DNA transcription, blocking HIV-1 replication. It is indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adult patients weighing 60 kg or more.
