CARBOKAST-450 Injection CARBOKAST-450 contains Carboplatin, a second-generation organoplatinum antineoplastic agent structurally related to cisplatin. Carboplatin undergoes intracellular activation to form reactive platinum species that bind covalently to nucleophilic sites on DNA, preferentially forming intrastrand and interstrand cross-links. These platinum-DNA adducts disrupt the tertiary structure of DNA, inhibit DNA replication and RNA transcription, and induce cell-cycle-nonspecific cytotoxicity and apoptosis. Carboplatin exhibits a broader therapeutic index and reduced nephrotoxic, ototoxic, and neurotoxic profiles compared to cisplatin. CARBOKAST-450 is supplied as a sterile solution for intravenous infusion and is indicated for the initial treatment and palliative management of advanced epithelial ovarian carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), advanced cervical carcinoma, and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
