Gazyva 1000 mg Gazyva contains Obinutuzumab, a humanized, glycoengineered Type II anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody. It binds to the CD20 antigen expressed on pre-B and mature B-lymphocytes. Engineered for enhanced FcγRIIIa receptor binding, obinutuzumab induces direct cell death and mediates increased antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP) while demonstrating reduced complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) compared to Type I anti-CD20 antibodies. It is indicated in combination with chemotherapy for the treatment of patients with previously untreated or relapsed/refractory follicular lymphoma, and in combination with chlorambucil for previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
