Saphnelo (Anifrolumab) Description

Saphnelo is the brand name for anifrolumab-fnia, a prescription monoclonal antibody used to treat moderate to severe systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in adults who are receiving standard therapy. It works by blocking the type I interferon receptor, helping reduce the overactive immune response associated with lupus.

Serious side effects:

Patients should seek immediate medical attention if they develop signs of a severe allergic reaction or serious infection.

Storage Store refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not freeze. Keep the vial in its original carton to protect it from light. Do not shake. Once prepared for infusion, administer according to healthcare facility guidelines. Dosage & Usage Recommended dose: 300 mg administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion over approximately 30 minutes. Frequency: Once every 4 weeks. Administered by a healthcare professional. Used in combination with standard lupus therapy. Not intended for self-administration.
